Many people have said they feel so connected to their new story jewelry that they don’t ever want to take it off. Believe me, we understand. Like any fine piece of jewelry, though, your special piece requires care. It will be important to follow these guidelines to ensure your treasure stays in perfect condition for years to come:
- Do not use harsh chemicals to clean your jewelry. Ever! Because many pieces will include genuine gemstones, chemicals can weaken or otherwise harm those stones. A soft cloth would be all that is necessary.
- Sometimes, your crystals may acquire your fingerprints or other residue. (Like hair spray - try not to spray in the vicinity of your jewelry). A soft cloth with a dab of Windex - only on the crystals - will take care of that in a jiffy.
- From time to time, it is ok to run your pieces under water, but don’t make a habit of it!
- While made with exceptionally strong beading wire, do take care not to tug, pull, twist, bend, or drop your jewelry. This can also happen unknowingly if you wear your piece while sleeping (which I don’t recommend!). Too much of this could result in a weak spots or kinks in the wire, or cause hairline cracks in the gemstones.
